Open Quote I have two children that completed 4 years each through Kindergarten at Village Montessori and all I have to say is WOW! The experiecne they had there was fantastic! Village Montessori offered them a loving, nurturing environment as well as a thorough Montessori curriculum. They have both moved on to other schools now and are thriving academically and I attribute their success to the early learning that they both received at Village Montessori School. I highly recommend this school! Close Quote

Open Quote Village Montessori is an excellent institution with top-notch staff and faculty, which understands the delicate balance between academic rigor, discipline, and positive social interaction. I am a progeny of this institution and can say without hesitation that this type of development early on has a profound impact on how my academic to and professional career developed. The work ethic at this Montessori has never dwindled and the team has prided themselves on a tradition that has always put students ahead of the curve. I couldn't have imagined my life any differently, and I am forever grateful.

Knowing the currently faculty well at this institution, I know that these are a group of professional and experienced women whose lives are dedicated day in and day out to the children that they work with. They wear many different hats ranging from caretakers to disciplinarians, but in stark contrast to the previous review, this is not a faculty that promotes bullying or isolationism of any sort. This is against any school policy, and the owner of the school and her faculty operate with the integrity to promote an optimal environment for children.

Do not hesitate send your children here. It's a wonderful community that will inspire your children to do great things in life. Close Quote

Open Quote There is no emphasis on learning social skills. Kids are left to work things out on their own, leading to the formation of cliques and bullying. Rules are strict and enforced with yelling by the teachers and extremely liberal use of time outs. Time outs are not given for treating other children horribly, they are given for things like fidgeting.

Older kids bully (and get away with it) younger kids, so the younger kids learn to do it from the older kids.

They say they want children to learn to do things on their own, but if a child doesn't move quickly enough for them they will grab them by the arm and move them, which terrified my child. Between the yelling, time outs, bullying, and grabbing, my child began having frequent potty accidents which went completely unnoticed by the staff. My child was afraid to ask them for help, so she would sit in her wet clothes until I picked her up. Once we left, she never had another accident.

Their policy for allowing children to "work it out" went all the way up to the director, so it really is the actual policy, not just the behavior of one teacher.

I would not recommend this school to anyone. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
