Mother Catherine Academy

This school is amazing. It reopened for the 2015 school year as an independent Catholic school, governed by a board of trustees who clearly have a grand vision for the school and the experience to make it a reality. This BOT has folks who have served on public school boards, a former state delegate, former educators (teachers and administrators), successful entrepreneurs, a handful of engineers and project managers ... an amazing group with all the skills needed to build a school! The ADW accredits the religious aspect of the school; the board oversees its operations. And an experienced administration has built a great team of experienced teachers who get all the support they could ask for to make their classrooms successful. And the tuition is affordable for anyone, with assistance available if necessary! This is the way a private school should be run! The school's name has changed; it's now Mother Catherine Academy.

My son has been at Mother Catherine since Pre-K (2003-present) and has been very successful. We are extremely pleased with the teachers he has had and the education he has received. The school has a new principal this year and she is absolutely wonderful. I think the new leadership will only make the school better. I have nothing but positive things to say about Mother Catherine. I am glad we made the choice to send our son there so many years ago.
