Its 2025–2026 MCAS Next Generation results show a clear split: English Language Arts proficiency was 49.68%, above the Belchertown district's 48.38% and the state's 40.03%, while mathematics was 34.69% and science 33.12%, both below the district and the state.

ELA is the school's clearest strength, though results vary by grade. Fourth-grade ELA was 51.57% versus the state's 37.43%, and sixth grade was 62.25% versus 40.26%, but fifth-grade ELA was 35.48%, below the state's 38.15%. Among nearby schools, only Amherst Regional Middle School (53.50%) was clearly higher in ELA, while Jabish Middle School (49.52%) and Wilbraham Middle (49.48%) were essentially tied. Science shows a sharp reversal after three years above the state — 48.13%, 49.69%, and 50.00% before falling to 33.12%. Because science is tested only in fifth grade here, this is a single-grade result worth investigating. Within the same district, Jabish Middle School outperforms Chestnut Hill Community School in math (39.87% vs. 34.69%) and science (42.57% vs. 33.12%) while matching it in ELA. Notably, its student-teacher ratio rose from 12.9 in 2022–2023 to 14.6 in 2024–2025, higher than most nearby middle schools except Quaboag Regional Middle Innovation School.
