Summary:

Maynard, MA is a three-school PK–12 district serving about 1,217 students: Green Meadow (elementary, PK–3, enrollment 456), Fowler School (middle, grades 4–8, enrollment 451), and Maynard High (grades 9–12, enrollment 310), with no alternative schools listed. The Maynard district as a whole ranks 160 of 351, at the 54th percentile with 3 stars.

Maynard High is the clear standout and the district's academic engine. On 2025–2026 MCAS, its Grade 10 ELA proficiency is 78.21% versus 45.48% statewide (+32.73 points), with math at 62.34% vs. 43.73%, science at 57.89% vs. 40.50%, and end-of-course physics at 58.90% vs. 46.58%. Its school rank improved to 58 of 353 — the 84th percentile, 4 stars — and it reports a 91.5% graduation rate and 7.3% dropout rate. Fowler School is more mixed: Grade 8 beats the state in science (48.42% vs. 38.93%), civics, ELA, and math, but all-grade results trail the state in ELA (36.61%), math (35.25%), and science (39.01%), Grade 5 is a clear weak spot, and its rank has slipped from the 73rd to the 60th percentile over three years. Green Meadow, where Grade 3 is the only tested grade, is below the state in both ELA (32.18%) and math (29.55%); its math rose year over year while ELA declined.

Resource patterns are worth noting but not conclusive: Maynard High has the lowest student/teacher ratio (9.6) and the highest 2020–2021 per-student spending ($20,975), while Fowler School has the lowest spending ($18,906) and Green Meadow the highest ratio (11.9). Free/reduced-lunch data is unavailable for all three schools, spending figures are from 2020–2021 only, and graduation and dropout data exist only for the high school, so a fuller equity picture isn't possible from this data.
