Summary:

Sutton, Massachusetts has two elementary schools, both part of the Sutton district and both sharing the same address at 383 Boston Road. Sutton Early Learning serves prekindergarten through 2nd grade with 324 students, while Sutton Elementary serves grades 3 through 5 with 287 students. Together they enroll 611 students in a clean grade-band split: younger children in one building, older elementary students in the other.

The two schools differ in size and staffing. Sutton Early Learning is the larger school, spends less per student ($16,722 versus $17,779), and has a higher student-teacher ratio (13.3 versus 11.8). Despite those differences, both schools work out to roughly 24 teachers each. Only Sutton Elementary has state test results, which makes sense since the other school ends at 2nd grade. Free and reduced-lunch figures are not available for either school, so family income context is missing.

For Sutton Elementary, the picture shifted between years. In 2024–2025 it scored above the state in Mathematics and Science and slightly above in ELA, reaching 3 stars and the 51st percentile. In 2025–2026 all-grade scores fell below the state in all three subjects, and its rank dropped to 498 of 899 schools, or the 45th percentile with 2 stars. Yet grade-level results were more encouraging: the school beat the district in 6 of 7 tested grade-subject areas. The standout was 5th grade ELA at 40.86% proficient, above both the district (40.43%) and the state (38.15%); 5th grade Mathematics also edged past the state. The weakest spot was 3rd grade ELA at 34.04% against the state's 42.79%. The Sutton district overall ranks 143 of 351 statewide, at the 59th percentile with 3 stars.
