Summary

Logansport High School is an alternative public school serving grades PK-12 in Logansport, Louisiana, part of the DeSoto Parish school district. With 632 students enrolled, the school has maintained a relatively high 4-year graduation rate, ranging from 80.1% to 84.0% over the past 5 years, slightly lower than the district average but still above the state average. However, Logansport High School has experienced fluctuating dropout rates, ranging from 0.8% to 4.3%, which are higher than the district average.

One significant concern is the school's high chronic absenteeism rates, ranging from 19.3% to 24.6% over the past 5 years, significantly higher than the district and state averages. Logansport High School's test scores are generally lower than the district and state averages across various subjects and grade levels, though the school does perform better than the state average in some areas, such as 3rd grade Mathematics and 5th grade English Language Arts. The school has a relatively high percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch, ranging from 52.93% to 54.11% over the past 3 years, higher than the district average.

Despite these challenges, Logansport High School has a lower student-teacher ratio compared to the district, ranging from 11.8 to 15 over the past 3 years, which may provide more individualized attention and support for students. By addressing the identified areas of concern, such as chronic absenteeism and academic performance, while leveraging the school's strengths, Logansport High School can work towards better serving its students and community.

Open Quote This school has been a major disappointment since start of kindergarten. Due to covid my son spends more time learning from a device IN CLASS, than i think is necessary. He needs better learning, he needs actual help in the classroom.he has fell behind to the point id rather Just pull him out and make sure hes learning what he needs help with most. Rude staff, lack of care from teachers are just a few reasons I detest this school. Close Quote
