As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote My daughter attended this school prior to moving on to the VJHS and now my son is at VUE. I think this is an excellent school and has a terrific staff. Not everything is perfect, but the staff strives and does there VERY best to do what they can to make it that way. Bullying is a big issue in today's society and the staff at VUE tackle it head on always. Not saying that it does not happen, as my child was a victim of bullying, but when it was made aware of the staff took immediate action and from that day forward there were no more problems. The teachers are up to date on the latest teaching skills and are always looking for new ways to keep the students interested so that learning is fun and easy.

There is however a couple of things I dislike.... The cafeteria... I have tried to go and have lunch with my children like I used to do at VLE and at VUE it is NOT a comfortable environment. The students are only given about 13 ACTUAL min to eat by the time they have made it through the lunch line and to the table. The students are not allowed to talk at all and when eating with my child we are place in the center of the cafeteria with all the other students surrounding us. I understand that there are over 300 students in and out of the cafeteria and they don't have time to talk and play but come on, a simple conversation never hurt anyone. Also, I feel that if I am taking time to come and eat with my child to give them that special moment then they should have a small area for that to take place just as they do at VLE. My child should not have to share their special moments with the whole school.

THEN... There is the matter of the "kissing tree", LOL!!! I doubt the staff even really knows that this is what the huge tree on the playground has been named but it is, and I know my children have came home with stories about so and so going behind the kissing tree for there first kiss. This is 5th graders!!! No way should they be kissing, let alone behind the tree at school. While I do think that this lesson should start at home, I also feel the staff should have a responsibility to make sure students are not behind the tree. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
