Zip code 42503 has nine schools spanning elementary through high school, all in Pulaski County. In 2025–2026, 48 of 56 reported school-grade-subject results were above the state benchmark, with an average advantage of 14 percentage points. But results vary widely: grade 5 editing and mechanics ranged from 42% at Shopville Elementary School to 77% at Oak Hill Elementary School, a 35-point spread. The main takeaway is that the area’s results are generally above state levels, but no single average captures the differences between schools.

Northern Elementary School and Oak Hill Elementary School stand out among the elementary schools: SchoolDigger ranks them at the 98th and 95th percentiles, respectively, and both have five stars. Pulaski County High School leads Southwestern High School in all six shared subjects, by 7 to 19 points; SchoolDigger rates them at the 90th and 59th percentiles, respectively. At the lower end of several elementary comparisons, Shopville Elementary School had the lowest reported scores in grade 4 reading, grade 5 writing, and grade 5 editing and mechanics, each below the state result. Northern Middle School was above the state in its reported results except grade 8 writing, which was 2 points below.

Across same-school, same-grade, same-subject comparisons, school scores fell by an average of about 1 point from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, while the schools’ position relative to the state also slipped by about 1 point. Individual patterns differ: Northern Elementary School rose by an average of 6 points across its matched results, while Shopville Elementary School fell by an average of 5. The shared low-income measure is free/reduced lunch eligible for 2024–2025; rates include 55% at Oak Hill Elementary School and 62% at Pulaski Elementary School, even as Oak Hill scored higher in all ten shared current comparisons.
