Open Quote I was very disappointed with this school. My daughter was denied admission due to her having a peanut allergy. The teacher, Lauren assured me that this would not be a problem and the other parents would be ok with not sending peanut products to school for snack time. Each child is responsible for supplying the class snack twice per month.  After completing the application and several unreturned phone calls from Lauren, I finally just showed up at the school as I was eager to get my child started. The director finally showed and I had a sit down meeting with her and the school janitor.  I still can't fanthom his purpose for being there.  I was informed by the director that Lauren decided that she "didn't want to be responsible for reading the labels" on packages brought in for snack by others. I tried to explain that it was very simple as even my 12 and 14 yr old have done so for years without incident. Since the teacher checking the label was not an option, the other option provided was to sit my daughter in a desk by herself facing away from the other children everyday at snack time.  I would not agree to ostracize my child.  Furthermore, she is NOT allergic to the point that she can't be in the same room as a peanut. Irregardless of this, I was told "we are unable to accommodate your child.". I grabbed my child and left the school with tears in my eyes.
How could a school based in the house of God be so unaccepting of a child?  She attended another faith based PreK without incident last year. Snack calendars were sent home each month with a list of prohibited items. Parents were informed at orientation to please not be offended if their snack was returned. In addition to the teacher having additional snacks on hand, I also supplied additional snacks for her, just in case. In my opinion that institution was a true example of God's decree for us to love and accept one another, despite our differences. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
