About the Kentucky Performance Rating for Educational Progress: K-PREP tests are blended norm-referenced and criterion-referenced measures that provide national percentiles and student performance levels of novice, apprentice, proficient and distinguished. Tests are given in grades 3-8 in reading, mathematics, science, social studies and writing. On-demand writing is also administered in grades 10 and 11.
