Summary:
Zip code 67060 has six schools in the Haysville area: four elementary schools serving pre-K through grade 5 and two middle schools serving grades 6–8. In 2025–26, their average proficiency was about 39% in ELA, 29% in math and 35% in science, compared with state rates of 46%, 41% and 38%. The area average was closest to the state in science and furthest behind in math, but the most important finding is how sharply elementary results vary from school to school, especially in science.
Rex Elementary led the six schools in ELA (49%) and science (48%), while Freeman Elementary was close behind in those subjects (46% and 47%) and led in math (34%). At the other end, Prairie Elementary School had the lowest results in all three subjects: 31% in ELA, 20% in math and 22% in science. Rex’s science result was 26 percentage points above Prairie’s, and Freeman’s math result was 14 points higher. The middle schools’ all-grades results were closer together, but grade-level strengths differed: Haysville Middle School led grade 6 math, while Haysville West Middle School led grade 8 math.
Average results rose from 2024–25 to 2025–26 in all three subjects, but math fell further behind the state because the state rate increased faster. Prairie improved by 8 points in ELA, 5 in math and 7 in science, though its latest results remained below state levels in every subject. SchoolDigger’s rankings also moved in different directions: Haysville Middle rose from the 13th to the 24th percentile and Freeman from the 29th to the 36th, while Nelson Elementary moved from the 35th to the 23rd. These rankings are separate from proficiency scores; grade-level results may be more useful when comparing schools serving different grades.
