Summary:

ZIP code 67002 includes eight schools in the Andover area: three elementary schools, two middle schools, two high schools and one K–12 alternative school. In 2025–26, the schools averaged 12–14 percentage points above state rates in English language arts (ELA), math and science, and seven of the eight beat the state in all three subjects. The clearest takeaway is that these strong area-wide averages conceal substantial differences among schools, especially in math and science.

The top school depends on the subject: Prairie Creek Elementary led ELA at 65%, Andover Central Middle School led math at 64%, and Sunflower Elementary School led science at 69%. At the other end, Andover High had the lowest ELA score at 49%, Andover eCademy the lowest math score at 32%, and Andover Central High School the lowest science score at 35%. The gaps between the highest and lowest schools were 16 points in ELA, 33 in math and 34 in science. eCademy’s overall results hide grade-level strengths: its third-grade ELA and math were 73% and 64%, each about 21 points above state results.

Results have shifted in different directions, rather than improving everywhere: the eight-school ELA average edged down from 59% to 58%, math rose from 53% to 55%, and the six-school science average fell from 60% to 56%. Individual changes were also mixed, including Sunflower’s 15-point science gain and Cottonwood Elementary’s 20-point science decline. Same-grade comparisons can help distinguish options: eighth-grade math was 75% at Andover Central Middle School and 70% at Andover Middle School, with both well above the 40% state rate. SchoolDigger’s rankings also moved down between 2023–24 and 2025–26 for Cottonwood (84th to 69th percentile) and Andover High (97th to 89th). Reported student–teacher ratios and free/reduced-lunch rates offer context, but the figures do not show that those measures explain score differences.
