ZIP code 66209 has seven Blue Valley public schools, serving elementary, middle and high school students in a suburban area. In 2025–2026, the schools’ average proficiency was about 72% in English language arts (ELA), 66% in math and 57% in science, compared with Kansas results of 46%, 41% and 38%. Most importantly, every school scored above the state in all three subjects, though math results varied most widely, by 25 percentage points.

Mission Trail Elementary led ELA and math, with 82% and 80% proficiency—7 points ahead of the next-highest ELA result at Leawood Elementary, and 5 points ahead of the next-highest math result at Leawood Middle. Leawood Middle led science at 73%, just 1 point above Overland Trail Elementary. At the lower end, Overland Trail Middle had the lowest ELA result at 67%, Valley Park Elementary the lowest math result at 56%, and Blue Valley North High the lowest science result at 58%.

Results changed unevenly year to year: the seven-school ELA average rose about 1 point and math increased by less than 1 point, while Kansas improved more in both subjects. Leawood Middle gained 6 ELA points and 4 math points; Overland Trail Elementary’s ELA score fell 6 points. SchoolDigger ranks Leawood Middle 2nd among 368 middle schools, Blue Valley North 3rd among 340 high schools and Mission Trail 8th among 657 elementary schools. Ratios and lunch rates do not neatly track results: Valley Park has the lowest student–teacher ratio, 11.4, while Leawood Elementary has the highest, 14.7, yet is among the higher-scoring schools.
