St Francis Community School has two schools serving students from prekindergarten through grade 12: St Francis Elementary (PK–5, 133 students) and St Francis High (grades 6–12, 164 students). SchoolDigger ranks the district 131st of 268 in Kansas, at the 51st percentile, with 3 stars. Results differ substantially by school and subject, and the schools serve different grades. The most pressing concern in the reported results is the elementary school’s science proficiency, which fell to 3% in 2025–26.

St Francis High leads in all three all-grades subjects: it is ahead of the elementary school by 16 points in ELA, 15 points in math, and 39 points in science. Its math and science results are also above Kansas rates by 6 and 4 points, respectively. By contrast, St Francis Elementary is below the state in all three subjects; its science result is 35 points below Kansas. Grade-level results add important detail: elementary grade 3 math is a relative bright spot, 5 points above the state, while high-school grade 10 ELA is 22 points above Kansas and grade 8 ELA is 31 points below.

Recent changes are mixed. High-school math rose 10 points, from 37% to 47%, while its science fell 10 points and ELA fell 2. Elementary science dropped 22 points, from 25% to 3%, while elementary math improved 4 points. SchoolDigger’s rankings also diverged: the high school moved from the 13th percentile in 2023–24 to the 94th in 2025–26, while the elementary school went from the 23rd to the 14th percentile. Attendance is another contrast: chronic absenteeism was 42% at the high school, compared with 12% at the elementary school and 18% statewide. The high school’s student–teacher ratio is 11.6:1, versus 12.5:1 at the elementary school; these figures are observations, not explanations for achievement differences.
