Moundridge

Moundridge has three public schools serving grades PK–12: Moundridge Elementary (PK–3), Moundridge Middle (4–8), and Moundridge High (9–12). The strongest school changes by subject, so no single school leads across the board. The sharpest concern is High’s latest math result: 29% proficient, 12 percentage points below the state, after a 34-point drop from the previous year.

Moundridge Elementary stands out in ELA, with 69% proficient—24 points above Moundridge High, the lowest of the three at 44%. Moundridge Middle leads math at 48%, while High is lowest at 29%; Middle is 7 points above the state, and High is 12 points below. In science, High leads Middle by 2 points, and both are above the state: High by 6 points and Middle by 3.

Recent results show important differences in direction. Elementary’s ELA rose 7 points, but its math fell 9; High’s ELA fell 8 points as its math plunged 34. Middle’s results vary within the school too: its ELA was above the state in grades 4 and 6 but below in grades 5, 7, and 8, while its math was above the state in grades 4–7 and slightly below in grade 8. SchoolDigger’s ranking puts Middle at the 54th percentile in 2025–2026, up from 42 the year before; High fell from the 92nd to the 66th percentile, while Elementary’s supplied ranking history ends in 2017–2018. Student–teacher ratios are similar, from 11.4 to 12.5. Free/reduced-lunch rates were 49% at Elementary, 49% at Middle, and 35% at High; chronic absenteeism was below the state rate at all three, ranging from 4% to 9%, compared with 18% statewide.
