Summary:
Inman has two public schools serving grades PK–12: Inman Elementary (PK–6, 260 students) and Inman Junior/Senior High School (grades 7–12, 188 students). In 2025–26, both reported Kansas Assessment Program results in English language arts (ELA), math and science, and the area’s two-school average was above the state in all three subjects, though only slightly in science. The most important difference for families comparing the schools is that the elementary led in all three current all-grades results, while the high school was below the state in math.
Inman Elementary stands out as the current score leader: its results were 55% in ELA, 50% in math and 40% in science, compared with 46%, 37% and 39% at the high school. The elementary’s leads were 9 percentage points in ELA, 13 in math and 1 in science. Against Kansas, the elementary was ahead by 9 points in both ELA and math and 2 in science. The high school was about even with the state in ELA, 4 points below in math and 1 point above in science. These all-grades results cover different grade spans, so they are not same-grade comparisons.
Results changed unevenly from 2024–25 to 2025–26. Science fell 21 points at the elementary and 22 at the high school, while the state fell 3 points; the area’s average science lead over the state narrowed from 20 points to 1. Math rose 3 points at the elementary but fell 10 at the high school. SchoolDigger’s latest statewide rankings favor the high school, at the 79th percentile versus the elementary’s 59th, despite its lower current all-grades scores. Grade-level results also vary: elementary grade 5 was below the state in both ELA and math, while grades 4 and 6 were well above the state in math. Both schools reported 8% chronic absenteeism, compared with 18% statewide; the high school’s graduation rate was 94%, versus 90% statewide. The elementary’s student-teacher ratio was 10.5 and its free/reduced-lunch rate was 41%; the high school’s were 9.3 and 34%, respectively.
