Two schools serve Ingalls, Kansas: Ingalls Elementary covers PK–5, and Ingalls High School/Junior High serves grades 6–12. In 2025–26, both schools were above Kansas in all-grades ELA, math, and science. Elementary scored 62% in ELA, 44% in math, and 54% in science, versus state results of 46%, 41%, and 38%; the High School/Junior High scored 61%, 57%, and 61%. Science is the clearest shared strength: both schools are above state, and their equal-weight average is 19 points above Kansas.

Ingalls Elementary narrowly leads in ELA, by 1 point; its result is 16 points above state, compared with 15 points for the High School/Junior High. Ingalls High School/Junior High stands out in math and science, leading Elementary by 14 and 7 points, respectively. It is 16 points above state in math and 23 points above in science, while Elementary is 3 points above state in math and 16 points above in science. Grade-level results show a sharper math contrast: the High School/Junior High’s 7th-grade math is 69%, 31 points above state, while Elementary’s 5th-grade math is 38%, 7 points below state.

Recent changes are mixed: from 2024–25 to 2025–26, the High School/Junior High gained 5 points in ELA and fell 6 points in both math and science; Elementary fell 7 points in ELA and 3 in math, but gained 6 in science. SchoolDigger ranks the High School/Junior High 30th of 340 statewide, at the 91st percentile with five stars, and Elementary 224th of 657, at the 66th percentile with three stars; both have slipped in rank over three reported years. The schools have similar enrollments—114 and 111 students—and student–teacher ratios of 10.1 and 11.2, respectively. Their free/reduced-lunch rates are 37% at the High School/Junior High and 45% at Elementary; these are context, not an explanation for performance. Because the schools serve different grade spans, their all-grades results are not a like-for-like comparison.
