Summary:
Fort Leavenworth has four schools: three elementary schools serving prekindergarten through grade 5 and Patton Junior High, serving grades 6–9. In 2025–26, the schools’ average all-grades proficiency was 30 percentage points above the state in English language arts (ELA), 34 points above in math and 36 points above in science. The clearest difference among schools is in science: results span 30 points, compared with 6 points in ELA and 3 points in math.
MacArthur Elementary led all-grades ELA at 79% and math at 77%; its leads over the next-highest schools were 3 points in ELA and 1 point in math. Eisenhower Elementary led science at 86%, 5 points above MacArthur. At the other end, Bradley Elementary had the lowest all-grades science result, 56%—19 points below the next-lowest result, at Patton Junior High. Bradley’s fifth-grade results are a particular contrast with its elementary peers: it scored 53% in math and 56% in science, versus 87% and 81% at MacArthur and 94% and 86% at Eisenhower. Those Bradley scores were still above the state results.
Area-wide averages improved from 2024–25 to 2025–26, rising 6 points in math and science and 1 point in ELA; the schools’ average lead over the state grew most in science, by 9 points, while ELA’s lead was nearly unchanged. Gains were not universal: Eisenhower rose 25 points in science and 10 in math, and Patton rose 14 points in science, while Bradley fell 19 points in science. SchoolDigger ranked Patton 3rd among 368 Kansas middle schools in 2025–26, after ranks of 2nd and 10th in the prior two years; its elementary-school rankings also placed all four schools in the 92nd–99th statewide percentiles. Context figures do not suggest one consistent explanation for score differences: elementary enrollment ranges from 317 to 424, student–teacher ratios from 11.1 to 13.2, and reported free/reduced-lunch rates from 4% to 11%.
