Summary:

Beloit has two schools: Beloit Elementary, serving pre-K through grade 7, and Beloit Junior-Senior High, serving grades 6–12. In 2025–26, the two-school average was above the state in English language arts (ELA), math and science, with the largest advantage in science: 9 percentage points above the state, compared with 8 in math and 6 in ELA. The clearest overall finding is that both schools exceeded state results in all three subjects, while Elementary led the high school in each.

Beloit Elementary stands out for the stronger all-grades results: 54% in ELA, 51% in math and 52% in science, leading the high school by 6, 5 and 9 percentage points, respectively. Its results were 8 points above the state in ELA, 10 in math and 14 in science. The high school also exceeded state results, but by smaller margins: 3 points in ELA, 5 in math and 5 in science. Grade-level results show exceptions to the overall picture: high-school grade 10 ELA reached 62%, 21 points above the state, while grade 7 ELA was 36%, 8 points below. SchoolDigger ranks the high school higher statewide—74 of 340 schools, 78th percentile and 4 stars—than Elementary, at 217 of 657, 67th percentile and 3 stars.

Results improved at both schools from 2024–25 to 2025–26, especially in science at Elementary and ELA at the high school. Elementary rose 6 percentage points in ELA, 12 in math and 15 in science; the high school rose 11, 9 and 7 points, respectively. Both schools’ SchoolDigger percentile rankings also climbed: Elementary from the 44th to the 67th percentile, and the high school from the 51st to the 78th. Other measures offer useful context: Elementary has 524 students and a 13.6 student-teacher ratio, compared with 336 students and a 10.6 ratio at the high school; their free/reduced-lunch rates are 44% and 46%. Chronic absenteeism is below the state’s 18% at both schools—8% at Elementary and 14% at the high school. These measures describe different aspects of the schools, and the schools serve different grade spans.
