Sharon Springs, Kansas, has two schools serving PK–12: Sharon Springs Elementary serves prekindergarten through grade 8 and enrolls 108 students, while Wallace County High serves grades 9–12 and enrolls 46. The clearest standout is Wallace County High, whose 2024–25 proficiency and graduation results were substantially above state levels.
Wallace County High leads on its available high-school measures: 80% of students were proficient in both ELA and math, compared with state rates of 44% and 39%, and its graduation rate was 100%, 11 percentage points above the state. Among 10th graders, ELA and math proficiency were each 80%, respectively 42 and 46 points above state results. In the 2024–25 all-grades figures, the high school was also higher than Sharon Springs Elementary by 21 points in ELA and 35 points in math. The elementary school’s latest results are strongest in ELA: 64% proficiency, 18 points above the state; math was 49%, 8 points above. Science is the weakest result: 35%, 3 points below the state, with grade 5 science 18 points below its state comparison.
Elementary ELA and math improved from 2024–25 to 2025–26 by 6 and 4 percentage points, respectively, but science fell by 24 points, shifting from 17 points above the state to 3 points below.
