Council Grove, Kansas, has two schools serving 686 students from prekindergarten through grade 12: Council Grove Elementary School (PK–6) and Council Grove Junior Senior High School (grades 7–12). Their results point to different strengths: the high school is ahead in all-grades mathematics and science, while the elementary school does better in ELA. Council Grove Junior Senior High School stands out in all-grades math, at 47% compared with 32% at the elementary school and 41% statewide; its science rate was 35%, versus 10% at the elementary school and 38% statewide.
