Delta High School is a 9–12 public high school in Muncie, Indiana, serving 848 students as part of Delaware Community School Corp. It is one of the larger high schools in its immediate area—similar in size to Yorktown High School (839 students) but noticeably larger than most surrounding rural high schools. For 2025–26, it ranked 84 of 415 Indiana high schools, placing it in the 80th percentile with 4 stars; it has held a mostly 4-star profile for years, with a 5-star peak in 2020–21.

Outcomes are solid and largely above state averages. The 2024–25 graduation rate was 96.7% (state: 89.7%), and chronic absenteeism was 13.1% (state: 16.7%)—a major turnaround from 31.5% in 2021–22. SAT Evidence-based Reading and Writing proficiency was 56.78% versus the state's 51.9%, and SAT Math was 28.14% versus 25.6%; math has declined from 43.5% in 2022–23 and is a relative weakness. Delta generally outperforms Blackford Junior-Senior High School, Cowan High School, Monroe Central Junior-Senior High School, Wapahani High School, and Wes-Del Middle/Senior High School across the broader set of measures, while Daleville Junior-Senior High School and Excel Center - Muncie trail on graduation. Indiana Academy for Sci Math Hmn is a selective state academy and not a comparable peer. Per-student spending was $11,641 in 2023–24.

My oldest son graduated from Delta in 2011 & my other son will graduate this year. (2012) I have also worked there as a substitute teacher. DHS is an EXCELLENT school. Both of my sons have LOVED attending here. There are a variety of activites available for students from all walks of life. DHS excells in academics and athletics. (The football program is OUTSTANDING) Students at Delta are friendly, and don't tend to be as "clicky" as they can be at other schools. This is also a SAFE school. Teachers CARE about the students, and most have great relationships with their students. My oldest son is finishing up his first year at a small, private college with tough academic curriculum & he is doing VERY well. I feel that DHS prepared him well. My other son has been accepted at the same school. Both of them received honors scholarships, as well. Close Quote
