The School Town of Speedway serves roughly 1,776 students across six schools — four elementary schools, one junior high, and one senior high — and is ranked 16th of 374 Indiana districts, placing it in the 96th percentile with 5 stars. Every school in the district ranks between the 83rd and 95th percentile, even though the weighted free/reduced lunch rate is approximately 61.7%, so these results are strong given the community's poverty level. Test scores in this data cover 2025–2026 and 2024–2025; attendance, graduation, and lunch data cover 2024–2025.

James A Allison Elementary School 3 is the clearest elementary standout: 95th percentile with 5 stars, the district's best elementary all-grade ELA (75.47%) and math (71.7%), and only 0.7% chronic absenteeism despite the highest free/reduced lunch rate (68.67%). Carl G Fisher Elementary School 1 (93rd percentile, 5 stars) leads in science (66.67%) and 5th-grade social studies (81.82%), spends the most per student ($16,534), and has the smallest classes (12.7:1) — but also the highest absenteeism (14.3%). Speedway Junior High School has climbed from #75 to #29 statewide (94th percentile, 5 stars). Speedway Senior High School graduates 99.1% of students versus 89.7% statewide and scores above the state on SAT, though its rank slipped from the 93rd to the 86th percentile and SAT scores fell year over year.

Attendance is the biggest differentiator: chronic absenteeism ranges from 0.7% at Allison to 14.3% at Fisher, and three schools sit above the district's 6.4% — Fisher, Arthur C Newby Elementary School 2, and the high school — while all remain below the state's 16.7%. Math is the relative weak spot: three of four elementaries declined in math year over year, and the junior high's all-grade math (55.25%) trails the district (62.21%), while the high school's SAT math dropped about 10 points. Frank H Wheeler Elementary School 4 is the largest elementary but posts the lowest elementary ELA (52.3%), and Newby's science (50%) is below district. Notably, higher spending and smaller classes do not consistently track with higher achievement here.
