Summary:
Alexandria Community School Corp (Alexandria Community School Corp) serves about 1,374 students across just two schools: Alexandria Monroe Elementary School, which covers grades PK–6, and Alexandria-Monroe High School, which serves grades 7–12, so there is no standalone middle school in the district. District-wide, the system ranks 175 of 374, placing it in the 53rd percentile with 3 stars.
The elementary school is the improving academic standout. Its rank rose from 497 of 1,011 (51st percentile) in 2023–2024 to 333 of 1,015 (67th percentile, 3 stars) in 2025–2026. In 2025–2026 All Grades ILEARN, ELA was 48.48%, math 44.7%, and science 51.23%. Upper grades are a strength, with 4th, 5th, and 6th grade ELA all above state, and 5th grade social studies jumping from 32% to 57.58%. Two concerns stand out: 3rd grade ELA (26.6%) and math (39.36%) are below state, and chronic absenteeism is 20.5%, above the district's 18.7% and the state's 16.7%.
The high school stands out for graduation, at 95.8% versus the state's 89.7%, and for lower chronic absenteeism at 16.5%. SAT Evidence-based Reading and Writing improved sharply, from 40.86% to 53.4% in 2025–2026, above the state's 51.9%. Math is the clear weak spot: SAT Math was 17.48% versus the state's 25.6%, and 7th and 8th grade ELA and math are all below state, with 8th grade ELA at 25% versus 44%. Its All Grades ILEARN results were 31.82% in ELA and 26.26% in math. The high school also spends more per student ($12,379 versus $10,750) and has a smaller student-teacher ratio (12.4 versus 16.3), showing that resources and class size do not move in a simple line with test results.
