Zip code 62615 includes three schools in Auburn serving PK–2 at Auburn Elementary School, grades 3–5 at Auburn Middle School, and grades 9–12 at Auburn High School. Together, they enroll 819 students. Attendance is favorable across the group: 2025–2026 chronic absenteeism was 9% at the elementary school, 15% at the middle school, and 20% at the high school, all below the 24% state rate. The clearest academic bright spot is Auburn Middle, whose latest all-grades results were above the state in ELA and math, with fifth-grade science also ahead.

Auburn Middle stands out academically: in 2025–2026, ELA proficiency was 59%, 3 percentage points above the state, and math was 40%, 1 point above; fifth-grade science was 56%, 8 points above. Auburn High’s clearest concern is math, which fell below the state in grades 9, 10, and 11 by 15, 4, and 16 points, respectively. Its grade 9 and 10 ELA and science results were near or above state levels, while grade 11 was more mixed. SchoolDigger’s statewide percentile ranking rose from 36 to 50 for Auburn High and from 33 to 49 for Auburn Middle between 2023–2024 and 2025–2026; these are relative rankings, not proficiency scores. In 2024–2025, free/reduced lunch eligible shares were 40% at the high school, 42% at the elementary school, and 46% at the middle school. Student-teacher ratios were 12.8, 13.5, and 11.8, respectively. Because the schools serve different grades and have different test results, the data do not support a fair academic ranking across all three.
