Zip code 62040 has nine schools serving prekindergarten through grade 12: seven elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. Eight are in Granite City CUSD 9, while Venice Elementary is in Venice CUSD 3. Across the six elementary schools with reportable 2025–26 results, average proficiency was 30% in ELA and 16% in math, compared with 56% and 40% statewide. The most important finding is that even the strongest local elementary results remain below state levels in both subjects.
