Best Public Schools in Zip Code 62025

Zip code 62025 has eight schools in Edwardsville CUSD 7: five elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school, serving students from elementary through high school. The five schools with reported test results generally outperform state results across the subjects and grades provided. One important exception is high school attendance: Edwardsville High School had 23.8% chronic absenteeism, slightly above the state’s 23.5%. Overall, the clearest finding is that reported test proficiency is above state results across the tested schools and subjects.

Liberty Middle School stands out in middle-school math and grade 8 science: its All Grades math proficiency was 56%, compared with 48% at Lincoln Middle School, an 9-point lead, and its science result was 67% versus 62%. These are strong comparisons with the state, not rankings against other local high schools.

ELA improved across all four schools with IAR results: their average rose from 59% in 2024–2025 to 69% in 2025–2026, and their average advantage over the state grew from 5 to 12 points. Math was less consistent: the average rose 2 points, but results fell at both tested elementary schools while rising at both middle schools. SchoolDigger’s statewide percentile rose from 72 to 78 at Liberty and 59 to 71 at Lincoln; it changed from 71 to 67 at Woodland and 74 to 75 at Columbus. In 2024–2025, the schools reported free/reduced lunch eligible rates of 19% at Liberty and 26% at Lincoln, and 27% at Woodland and 22% at Columbus; student–teacher ratios were 16.7, 13.3, 14.1 and 16.5, respectively.
