Schools in ZIP code 61607 include six schools serving PK/K–12: five elementary schools serving PK/K–8 and one high school serving grades 9–12, with 1,977 students combined. The five elementary schools’ equal-school averages were 66% in ELA and 42% in math, compared with state results of 56% and 40%. The most important finding is that these averages hide wide differences: elementary scores ranged by 41 percentage points in ELA and 42 points in math.

Monroe Elementary School led the elementary group with 86% in ELA and 57% in math—30 and 18 points above the state, respectively. Limestone Walters Elementary School was second, at 78% in ELA and 56% in math, above the state by 22 and 16 points. Hollis Consolidated Grade School also exceeded state results in both subjects, with 69% in ELA and 44% in math. At the other end, Bartonville Elementary School had the lowest scores, 45% in ELA and 15% in math; its math result was 24 points below the state. Oak Grove School was slightly below state results in both subjects, at 51% in ELA and 38% in math.

The schools’ 2024–2025 free/reduced lunch eligible shares ranged from 24% at Hollis to 55% at Bartonville; Monroe’s share was 45% despite its leading results. Limestone Community High School was below state results in all three reported 11th-grade ACT subjects in 2025–2026: 36% in ELA, 23% in math and 41% in science.
