ZIP code 60608 has 23 schools in Chicago Public Schools District 299: 17 elementary schools, mostly serving PK/K–8, and six high schools serving grades 9–12. The 2025–2026 elementary all-grades results vary widely: reported ELA scores span about 13% to 64%, while math scores span 14% to 51%; the math range includes only schools with reported scores. The most important takeaway is that individual schools differ substantially, so a ZIP-code-wide picture can hide meaningful differences between schools and grade levels.

Among elementary schools, Everett Elementary School leads overall, with 64% in ELA and 51% in math. Within PK–8 schools, Armour Elementary School has the highest all-grades ELA at 64%, while Orozco Elementary Fine Arts & Sciences leads all-grades math at 41%. Grade-level results add detail: Armour has 90% in grade-8 ELA, and Orozco has 86%. At the low end, Smyth J Elementary School has the lowest reported all-grades ELA at 13%; Walsh Elementary School and Whittier Elementary School tie for the lowest reported math at 14%. At high schools, Noble St Charter-UIC College Prep leads reported ACT scores, but its ELA, math, and science results remain 10, 13, and 10 points below state rates.
