Summary:

Eight schools serve students from kindergarten through grade 12 in zip code 60093: four elementary schools, three middle schools and one high school, with grade spans ranging from K–3 at Middlefork Primary School to grades 10–12 at New Trier Township H S Winnetka. Overall, local schools perform well above state proficiency results: the seven K–8 schools averaged 85% in ELA and 84% in math in 2025–2026, compared with 56% and 40% statewide. The most important finding is that strong area-wide results coexist with meaningful differences by grade and subject.

Greeley Elementary School stands out in math, leading the K–8 schools in all-grades results at 95%; it also reached 95% in grade 3 and 96% in grade 4. Sunset Ridge Elementary School led several older-grade comparisons, including grade 5 and grade 7 ELA and math, while Carleton W Washburne School led grade 8 ELA. The clearest low result was at Middlefork: its grade 3 ELA proficiency was 66%, versus an 82% average for the other three schools serving that grade—a 16-point gap—though it remained 18 points above the state. New Trier also exceeded the state in grade 11 ACT results, with 87% proficient in ELA, math and science.

Recent changes show different patterns across schools: Middlefork’s all-grades ELA fell 15 points from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, while its math rose 1 point; Greeley’s math increased 8 points, the largest K–8 gain. Across the seven K–8 schools, average ELA was essentially unchanged as the state result rose 3 points, while average math rose 2 points as the state rose 1. SchoolDigger ranks moved in different directions: Greeley improved from 47 to 17, while Sunset Ridge shifted from 6 to 36; rankings are not test scores. Student-teacher ratios among K–8 schools ranged from 8.1 at Sunset Ridge to 12.8 at Greeley. The reported free/reduced lunch eligible figures are from 2021–2022: 0.8%–1.6% at K–8 schools and 3.2% at New Trier, useful as context but not a measure of current results.
