Salem Community High School is a public high school serving 706 students in grades 9–12 in Salem, within Salem CHSD 600. Salem combines comparatively strong graduation and attendance results with a clear academic concern: math and science proficiency are below state levels in every grade reported.

ELA is Salem’s strongest tested subject: 11th-grade proficiency was 50.4%, just above the state’s 49.9%, and higher than reported results at Centralia High School (41%) and South Central High School (27%).
