Georgetown Middle School serves 230 students in grades 4–8 in Marquette Heights, Illinois, and its results place it among the stronger nearby schools in English language arts (ELA) and math. In 2025–2026, it ranked second among nine nearby schools reporting results in both subjects. The most important concern is that, despite that strong local standing, Georgetown’s all-grades math proficiency remained below both the state and district results.

ELA is a clear strength: 61.3% of Georgetown students were proficient, compared with 56% statewide and 60.9% in the district. Math proficiency was 36%, versus 40% statewide and 40% in the district, though Georgetown still ranked second locally and was above the nearby-school average of 21%. Fifth grade stood out: Georgetown led nearby schools reporting results in fifth-grade ELA (65%), math (50%), and science (68%). Results are less consistent in upper grades: seventh-grade ELA was 51%, 6 points below the state, and eighth-grade math was 26%, 9 points below the state. Eighth-grade science ranked second among nearby schools reporting results, but at 49% it was 3 points below the state.

Results have improved since 2023–2024: ELA rose by 20 points to 61%, while math gained 16 points to 36%, narrowing its gap with the state by 5 points.
