Hitch Elementary School serves pre-K through eighth grade and enrolls 495 students in Chicago, within Chicago Public Schools District 299. The school’s most pressing academic concern is math: in 2025–2026, all-grades proficiency was 34%, compared with 50% on average at nine nearby schools with comparable results. Fourth-grade math was 24%, and eighth-grade math was 18%; in both grades, Hitch scored below the state, district and every comparable nearby full-span school.

My daughter was bullied for 3 consecutive years. From third grade to 6th. Seems things weren’t resolved by administration or teachers. They just told her to do like a “turtle “ not sure what that meant. It changed when I told said I would call board of Ed and go to channel 5. Then the kids wouldn’t talk to her which was just as bad.
