Summary:
Woodridge School District 68 has seven schools: six elementary schools serving PK/K–6 and one junior high serving grades 7–8. In 2025–2026, the elementary schools averaged 68% proficiency in English language arts (ELA) and 51% in math, compared with state averages of 56% and 40%. Most importantly, all six elementary schools scored above the state in both all-grade ELA and math.
Thomas Jefferson Junior High stands out in ELA and math, with 84% and 58% proficient—28 and 19 percentage points above state results—but its grade-8 science score was 48%, about 4 points below the state. Among elementary schools, John L. Sipley led in all-grade math at 54% and grade-5 science at 67%; William F. Murphy had the highest all-grade ELA result, 71%. At the lower end, Goodrich had the lowest all-grade ELA result, 65%, while Edgewood had the lowest all-grade math result, 50%. Grade-level results can differ sharply: Willow Creek led grade-4 math at 64% but had the lowest grade-5 math result at 29%; grade-5 science ranged from 44% at Meadowview to 67% at Sipley.
Elementary averages improved from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026: ELA rose 5 points and math 3 points, compared with state gains of 3 and 1 point. Grade-5 science increased 13 points on average, but Murphy’s all-grade ELA and math each fell, and Thomas Jefferson grade-8 science declined 4 points. SchoolDigger statewide percentiles fell for every school over the three years, by 5–19 points; Thomas Jefferson ranked at the 78th percentile, while elementary rankings ranged from Sipley at the 73rd to Meadowview at the 62nd. Context measures do not line up neatly with results: the elementary student–teacher ratios ranged from 11.6 to 14.7, and 2024–2025 free/reduced lunch eligible measures included 50% at Murphy, 44% at Sipley and 30% at Goodrich.
