Diamond Lake School District 76 has one middle school, West Oak Middle School, serving grades 6–8 and enrolling 280 students. In 2025–26, the school’s all-grades ELA proficiency was about the state level, while its mathematics and grade 8 science results were lower. Mathematics is the clearest current concern: 20% of students were proficient, compared with 40% statewide, a 20-point gap.
