CUSD 3 Fulton County

CUSD 3 Fulton County has three schools serving prekindergarten through grade 12 in Fulton County: an elementary school, a middle school, and a high school, with 188, 80, and 118 students, respectively. The most important finding is a sharp academic divide between the elementary and middle schools, particularly in math.

On 2025–2026 all-grades IAR results, Cuba Elementary School leads the two IAR schools, with 62% proficient in ELA and 49% in math; Cuba Middle School has 49% in ELA and 17% in math. Elementary is ahead by 12 points in ELA and 32 in math. It is also above state results by 5 points in ELA and 10 in math, while middle is below by 7 and 22 points, respectively. Cuba Senior High School stands out on grade 11 ACT results: it is above the state by 2 points in ELA, 8 in math, and 15 in science. Its grade 9–10 PreACT results are weaker; grade 10 science, for example, is 32% compared with 48% statewide.

Both IAR schools improved from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026: elementary rose 8 points in ELA and 10 in math, while middle rose 12 in ELA and 6 in math. However, SchoolDigger’s statewide percentile rose from 38 to 69 for elementary and from 38 to 55 for high school, but fell from 40 to 29 for middle. The schools also differ in context: in 2024–2025, free/reduced lunch eligible students made up 48% at elementary, 51% at middle, and 38% at high school; student-teacher ratios were 13.4, 10.0, and 11.5. These are descriptive differences, not explanations for test results. Chronic absenteeism was below the 24% state rate at all three schools, and high school graduation was 92%, compared with 90% statewide. Fifth-grade elementary ELA was a notable exception to the school’s overall strength, at 46% proficient versus 55% statewide.
