Brookfield Lagrange Park School District 95

Brookfield Lagrange Park School District 95 has two schools serving kindergarten through grade 8: Brook Park Elementary School serves grades K–5, and S E Gross Middle School serves grades 6–8. In 2025–2026, both schools’ reported results were above state results across every tested grade and subject, though their strengths differ: Brook Park stands out in math, while S E Gross stands out in ELA and science. This broad performance above state results is the area’s most important finding.

S E Gross had the higher all-grades ELA result, 76% compared with 68% at Brook Park; both exceeded the state’s 56% result. In all-grades math, Brook Park led with 58%, versus 40% at S E Gross; Brook Park was well above the 40% state result, while S E Gross was about level. Science was strong at both: 68% in grade 5 at Brook Park and 78% in grade 8 at S E Gross, respectively 20 and 26 points above their grade-level state results. Because the schools serve different grades, their all-grades results are not a like-for-like comparison, and the science results are from different grades.

Science improved substantially from 2024–2025 at both schools: grade 5 at Brook Park rose 21 points, and grade 8 at S E Gross rose 24 points; each gain exceeded the state’s increase for that grade. Math also rose, by 10 points at Brook Park and 6 at S E Gross. SchoolDigger rates both four stars; its 2025–2026 percentile rankings are 76 for Brook Park and 70 for S E Gross. The student-teacher ratios were 14.1 and 12.7, respectively, in 2024–2025. In 2023–2024, 18% of Brook Park students and 17% of S E Gross students were free/reduced lunch eligible; these figures offer context, not an explanation of results.
