Summary:
Illini West H S District 307 has one school, Illini West High School, serving grades 9–12 and enrolling 349 students. In 2025–2026, graduation was 82%, compared with 90% statewide, and dropout was 6%, compared with 2%; chronic absenteeism was lower at 21%, versus 24% statewide. The main academic concern is math and science: all six grade-and-test results in those subjects were below Illinois results.
There is no meaningful school-to-school ranking because the district list contains only one school; the clearest high and low points are in different subjects and grades. Grade 9 ELA stands out: 70% were proficient, 9 percentage points above the state’s 62%. At the other end, grade 10 science was 33% proficient, 15 points below Illinois at 48%; grade 11 ACT math was similarly low relative to the state, at 25% versus 40%, a 15-point gap. ELA results were mixed rather than uniformly strong: grade 10 was 6 points below the state, while grade 11 was 2 points below.
Results improved overall relative to the state, but not consistently across subjects. The average gap across the nine comparable test results narrowed from 12 points below the state in 2024–2025 to 8 points below in 2025–2026, an improvement of 4 points. Grade 9 ELA rose 11 points, from 59% to 70%, while its state result fell about 1 point; grade 9 math also rose 14 points. In contrast, grade 10 science fell 7 points, and its gap with the state widened. SchoolDigger ranked the school at the 54th percentile in 2023–2024, 36th in 2024–2025 and 38th in 2025–2026. In 2024–2025, its student–teacher ratio was 15 and 54% of students were free/reduced lunch eligible.
