Monroe Elementary School up 46 spots statewide this year
Summary:

Casey-Westfield CUSD 4C has two schools serving PK–12: Monroe Elementary School (PK–6, 530 students) and Casey-Westfield Junior/Senior High School (grades 7–12, 361 students). In 2025–26, both schools’ All Grades IAR results were above state levels in ELA and math. Because the schools serve different grade spans, their All Grades scores are not like-for-like comparisons. The most important takeaway is that both schools now exceed state results in both subjects, following a sharp high-school recovery, though performance varies by grade and test.

Monroe Elementary School stands out in All Grades ELA, with 61% proficient versus 57% at the high school and 56% statewide; it also scored 66% in fifth-grade science, 18 points above the state’s 48%. The high school leads in All Grades math at 44%, compared with Monroe’s 42% and the state’s 40%. Those overall results conceal sharp grade-level differences: Monroe’s fourth-grade math was 22 points above state, but its fifth-grade math was 12 points below. At the high school, ninth- and tenth-grade PreACT math results were 17 and 11 points below state, even as eleventh-grade ACT ELA and science were above state.

Recent IAR gains were strongest at the high school: from 2024–25 to 2025–26, its All Grades ELA rose 11 points and math rose 13; Monroe’s ELA rose 6 points while math dipped by 1. SchoolDigger’s rankings also show improvement from 2023–24 but a pullback in the latest year: Monroe moved from the 46th to the 54th percentile, after reaching the 59th, while the high school moved from the 32nd to the 46th, after reaching the 70th. As 2024–25 context, student–teacher ratios were 17.6 at Monroe and 13.3 at the high school, and 42% and 46% of students, respectively, were eligible for free or reduced-price lunch. In 2025–26, chronic absenteeism was lower at Monroe (13%) than at the high school (22%).
