The district outperforms the state average in both math (54.7% vs. 43.1% proficient) and English language arts (61.4% vs. 54.0%), though chronic absenteeism runs slightly higher than the state rate at 14.9% versus 13.8%.

Families will find several standout schools. Camelot Elementary School is the district's academic star, ranking in the 86th percentile statewide with 72.6% math and 69.5% ELA proficiency, along with the district's lowest poverty rate (15.2% free/reduced lunch) and very low chronic absenteeism of 6.7%. Tammany High School stands out for the wrong reasons — its 48.1% chronic absenteeism rate is more than triple the state average, it has no reported test scores or ranking, and it spends the most per student ($15,508) despite the most alarming attendance data. On a positive note, Centennial Elementary School and Whitman Elementary School both improved their statewide rankings significantly, while McGhee Elementary School and McSorley Elementary School slipped from their previous percentile positions.
