Open Quote We came to MIS four years ago because of its pledge that "no one waits to learn."  They've kept that commitment, working with us creatively to provide challenging courses for our gifted children.  The teachers are exceptional, and exceptionally committed to engaging gifted children.  We love the diversity of the school and faculty, and we appreciate the support for social and emotional development as well as academics.  The school embraced the challenge of navigating the pandemic and our kids continue to thrive, even this year.  We hope the high school especially will keep growing, but accept that our kids peer group is smaller than at other schools as the flip side of having small classes and individual engagement from teachers. Open Quote Our experience at M.I.S has been great, my child has attended for 5 years and it feels like a home away from home. The teachers are truly invested in my daughter’s education and her growth as a well-rounded person. I love MIS because of the smaller class sizes and adjustments made as needed to meet my child’s needs. There is a strong parent association that works closely with the school and both parties are dedicated to the school’s success. Children have the opportunity to travel to great places such as France, Spain, Peru, Guatemala, and even Greenland. Younger students take trips to Savanah, Washington D.C., and other exciting cities. I’ll admit the school is only 8 years old and this year was especially challenging. There is a new head of school and there were a couple of staff changes however, toward the middle to the end of the year, they really got their stride. It was a stressful start but I can honestly say, it ended pretty sweet. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
