The Walker School

We have been at The Walker School for years. We have two kids one in the Upper School and one in the Middle School. We LOVE our experience, the approachability of administrators and the diverse setting.

As a graduate, I truly appreciated my Walker education once I got to college. I felt very confident and prepared even in a challenging college environment like Duke. The teachers are terrific; I had enthusiastic, intellectual teachers that I kept in touch with after leaving the school. I also appreciated that the size of the school allowed me to be involved in a wide variety of activities, which I certainly would not have been able to do if I had stayed in public school after 8th grade. I am now enjoying the Walker experience as a parent, which was an easy decision for our family.

My children have benefited in so many ways by attending Walker. Small class size, accelerated learning, opportunities to play sports, etc. Although we have had to sacrifice some material things (bigger house, nicer car); we feel the investment is priceless!

Our children attend The Walker School and we could not be happier with our experience in both the preschool and lower school. Like many families, our children have very different interests, learning styles, and personalities. Both have thrived with the individual attention that is given--small classes and two dynamic teachers in each classroom are key! We love the way that they are learning to THINK and can't wait to see what is next!
