Our son just started at Porter Academy and we are thrilled. He has several learning disabilities and Apraxia and ADHD and is absolutely thriving at school. He has made friends and his behavior has been amazing. He no longer takes ADHD medication and his confidence level is at an all time high!!!! We are so happy with Porter!!! Close Quote

Porter was recommended by our grandsons Psychiatrist due to his severe learning disability. We are so glad we enrolled him a year ago. He has grown so much and is happy every day to go to school. Close Quote

Our overall experience with Porter Academy was a very negative experience. Our last year was 2017/2018 The best part of the school is the O.T. The SLP is not a licensed SLP but has a degree in communications. Our experience with the assistant principal was very negative. Initially, we trusted her to make the best decisions for our daughter, but in the end we were let down greatly. She made changes to my daughters classroom and education plan without communicating anything to us, the parents. She did not follow through with her promises and classrooms were always, "under construction." She was non transparent and was very vague in communicating what was happening in the classroom regarding the curriculum. The lower school classrooms have the lower student teacher ratio however, the upper school classrooms do not offer the same ratio. The occupational therapy is wonderful however, if you are looking for a school with strong academics and a trustworthy administration, I would look somewhere else. Close Quote
