The school has also made remarkable strides in reducing chronic absenteeism, dropping from 19.9% in 2021-2022 to just 5.9% today. The school's overall ranking has climbed from the 63rd percentile in 2018-2019 to its current 82nd percentile—a nearly 20-point improvement over five years. This upward trajectory is especially notable given that nearly half of the student body qualifies for free or reduced lunch. J. Knox also uses its resources efficiently, spending $14,892 per student and achieving better results than Woodstock Elementary, which spends a similar amount. While math is a clear strength, the school shows a positive pattern in reading as well, with proficiency rising from 33.5% in 3rd grade to 55.9% in 5th grade, suggesting students catch up as they progress. Areas for continued focus include support for English Language Learners and Special Education students, but overall, J. Knox is a school on a clear upward path, delivering strong results for its students.

Open Quote Knox is a wonderful school! The teachers, administrators, and staff are second to none. Parent involvement is always welcome and encouraged. The community is also very supportive of the school and their PTA. I feel that the faculty goes above and beyond what is expected, and there is never a dry eye in the building on the last day of school as the teachers say goodbye to the students for the summer.
