Open Quote I strongly urge parents not to send their children to this school. It features a “vibrant” Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) office that makes a point to coerce the speech, actions, and thoughts of students. They are willing to go to great extent to punish those who waiver from a certain ideology. Make sure to understand the student handbook in-depth. For instance, page 43 describes a policy that forbids students from discussing personal views on social & political topics without a teacher present. A violation of such rules may lead to a forced psychological examination, suspension, or even expulsion. If you have prepaid tuition it’s lost and if you didn’t prepay the school will seek payment (read the contract). Your child’s college applications and bright future scholarship may also be at risk in the name of DEI.

A private school that actively seeks to stifle the expression of its students is not only violating fundamental democratic concepts, it is also failing one of the basic tenets of any learning process, which is the unfettered free flow of ideas. Students need exposure to differing viewpoints and means of expression to grow and learn. If they are censored, the students of a private school receive a lesser education than their counterparts in public schools. For a school such as American Heritage which prides itself on its academic record, having a rule such as this should be an embarrassment. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
