Island Montessori Academy

I have one child in the Primary class and 1 entering the toddler room next year. We couldn't be happier with our experience at Island Montessori Academy. The teachers are outstanding and caring. We are amazed at the things our daughter learned this year whether it be the name of the continents, how to write her name or ho to fold laundry!! My daughter feels a part of a family and is so happy to go to school each and every day!!

Above average educational experience for my toddler, in an educationally proven, nurturing, and self-reliant environment. I agree with the Montessori philosophy, but more important to me, are the teachers spending time with my son. They are the best, and truly support the children.

After moving from Naples to Marco Island, we have visited all the schools in Marco, and we are very happy to say that we made the right decision on choosing Island Montessori School for our child. The new building is fantastic, with large and super clean class rooms. The staff and teachers are very dedicated, and truly care for our children and their education and growth. My daughter absolutely loves her school . The Island Montessori Academy emphasizes learning through all five senses, not just through listening, watching, or reading. Children in Montessori classes learn at their own, individual pace and according to their own choice of activities from hundreds of possibilities. Learning is an exciting process of discovery, leading to concentration, motivation, self-discipline, and a love of learning."Research studies show that Montessori children are well prepared for later life academically, socially, and emotionally. In addition to scoring well on standardized tests, Montessori children are ranked above average on such criteria as following directions, turning in work on time, listening attentively, using basic skills, showing responsibility, asking provocative questions, showing enthusiasm for learning, and adapting to new situations." As a mom I strongly recommend this school for anyone that is looking for something "more" than traditional teachings- IMA gives our child an opportunity to explore a child's creativity and build a strong foundation for a successful path in education.

I have two children attending "IMA" and am beyond thrilled. The teachers are caring and considerate and incorporate the Montessori teaching method wonderfully. My children are bright and energetic with lots of curiosity and this school compliments and brings out the best in them. The school goes up to grade 3- but I'm hoping by the time my kids are that age they will consider expanding to "upper elementary". A sure win! Btw, I live in Naples, and happily make the drive to Marco for this fantastic school- so worth it!
