Open Quote The school does not protect children from bullying, in fact, after a while the teachers joined in and bullied a child who had questions about subjects they were learning and they didn't know the answers. They weren't even interested in looking it up or talking to him about it. He was dismissed.. Ultimately, after the school strongly suggested that the child get tested and he tested in the 99th percentile for academics. the director and the head mistress said that the school could not accommodate his needs as the rest of the school basically did not come close to his intelligence level. Very disappointing school. It comes highly recommended in town, but the reality is not even close to the hype. It may be a nice campus, but the academics and education is sorely lacking. Open Quote My kids have been at Seacrest for 10 years now. We love the school because it's philosophy is that each child is an individual with different learning styles and they make sure the kids get the help they need for academic success. They don't try to fit a square peg in a round hole. They are not militant like my own elementary as a child and some schools still are. Although this is a private school, Seacrest has a vast economic and culturally diverse student population which provides a very real world view of the future whether it be college or life in general. With the exception of a small few I have found the teachers to be engaging and captivating and the kids absolutely thrive in that environment. Again, not everything is perfect with every teacher but in 10 years I have had an issue with only 1 teacher and she is not there anymore (retired). The high school is amazing, with the new classroom building just being completed it is a new and exciting environment for the students (one being mine). The high school teachers start building a trusting and mutually respectable relationship with the students from 9th grade on up and by the time they graduate the teachers know the kids so well it feels more like a family. The courses are rigorous on numerous and the teachers are there to offer help if needed at any time. The "AP" classes are especially challenging and some students take every one possible due to academic goals and college acceptance while others don't because it may not be the right fit. Both scenarios are completely fine. I love this school. You are allowed to be who you are without the pressure to be a cookie cutter student or person. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
