Open Quote As an alumnus, I can say that the Jesuit education I received at Belen extensively prepared me for a successful college career and instilled in me a sense of community service that remains with me today. Our motto, "men for others", isn't just a slogan, it's a way of life. It continues on within us well beyond graduation. The comradery between the alumni is second to none. In fact, although it has been over 25 years since my graduation, I still socialize and do business with many Belen graduates. The brotherhood we enjoy is as though we were once active members of a fraternity, which is unique among most other schools. Belen isn't for every one though. The tough academic standards, and the competitiveness that goes along with it, is unforgiving. Only through hard work, commitment and dedication will a student be able to enjoy all that Belen has to offer. While athletics is an important part of making the students well-rounded, a superstar athlete without the grades is simply not good enough to become a graduate. Close Quote

Open Quote This school is academically challenging, but "Men for Others" it is not. The boys in this school are very cruel to new arrivals. They seem to think they are all privileged and lack respect for both parents and teachers. The culture in this school is either a sign of the times or a massive failure in "Christian Values" education. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio
Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
