Oak Hammock K-8 School is a public elementary school located in Port St Lucie, Florida, serving 1,704 students in grades PK-8. The school is part of the St. Lucie School District, which is ranked 42 out of 67 districts in the state and has a 2-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Oak Hammock consistently outperforms the district and state in several key test score metrics, particularly in End of Course (EOC) exams, where the school has significantly higher proficiency rates in Algebra 1, Geometry, and Civics. However, the school's performance in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics is more mixed, with lower proficiency rates in some grades compared to the district and state averages. The school also experiences higher chronic absenteeism rates, which may be contributing to the lower academic performance in certain subjects.

When compared to nearby schools, Northport K-8 School and Manatee Academy K-8 have similar performance profiles to Oak Hammock, with strong EOC exam results but mixed performance in ELA and Math. The charter schools in the area, such as Renaissance Charter School of St. Lucie and Somerset Academy Bethany, generally outperform the traditional public schools in the district, particularly in ELA and Math. The high-performing Fau/Slcsd Palm Pointe Educational Research School stands out as a standout in the region.

Open Quote This school is a JOKE! The teachers are there to collect a paycheck and see fit to tease children, like mine, with learning disabilities. If you think the Dean might help, hope you do not have failed football coach Dean (initials CH). He is RUDE and CONDESCENDING. He has no business in the education system, though most at the school don't. As a parent I could not be more disappointed with a school. I am only rating one star as a negative rating is not possible. Close Quote
