Open Quote Unprofessionally run by an inept upper administration!!! The “takeover” has resulted in DECEPTIVE hiring practices, massive layoff of teaching staff within the first month of school, students schedules being changed AT LEAST 3 times during the first quarter. All of which have resulted in overcrowded classrooms, students not getting the classes they signed up for, difficulty meeting the needs of students, unnerved and unhappy parents, INABILITY TO MEET STUDENTS’ NEEDS - which they each most certainly deserve!!!!! Now, they are advertising to hire substitute teachers no doubt to replace the 6+ teachers they disposed of......unconscionable!!!!!! Close Quote

Open Quote School is for students who could not thrive at regular public schools. Lots of behavior issues but no resources for adequate support staff. Building in disrepair with no budget for maintenance. Close Quote

Open Quote I completely disagree with the first rater. My kids have been at this school for over 10 years. My oldest has graduated and is doing very well in a high school honors program. My son is thriving at Suncoast as well. They get to know each child at this school. The teachers are very good on average. Technology is increasingly being used in a productive way in the classroom. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
